Skip the pedestrian street. A parallel one, chair on the pavement, worn marble.

When the shadow covers the pavement. Not “at 5”. If you rushed from work, wait outside a minute.

What you do

  1. Walk seven minutes with no destination. If “the right place” appears at minute three, pass it.
  2. Sit at the second empty table, not the nicest one.
  3. Order before the phone comes out. Then flip it over.
  4. Water second. Not a second coffee to justify staying.

What you get

Greek coffee, medium, and water. If they don’t have Greek coffee, a plain one and stop there.

If it’s dead

Leave without a comment. Within a four-minute walk, the most boring place you can find.
